Full RSS Feeds and Other Housecleaning

Posted by 0rion on November 9th, 2007 - 2:06 am

That’s right, in addition to all our other benefits, we now offer full RSS feeds.

Guff’s busy working on a film, so I’ve taken advantage of the down time to do some Epic housecleaning. As you may have noticed, there have been a number of minor changes across the site.

I’ve received several requests for full articles in our RSS, as well as requests to be able to subscribe to comments, so both of those features are now available. I’ve finally gotten around to updating our blogroll, as well, which now includes the obligatory witty (or not) comments in the alt text.

If you run across anything broken while browsing the site, please let me know. :)

@ Owen

So wait…are you implying that you don’t like RSS feeds, or that you don’t like real girls?

Adding things to your site is always good as long as its not a distraction to the main point of a blog lol, the post itself. I’m adding slight changes to my own blog every now and then, I just added the commentluv plugin to the blog. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for adding me to your blogroll guys - I’m honoured. Ooo, emoticons…

I may well make use of the full feeds thing as well. Judging by the number of blogs I browse daily I need to start using a feedreader of some sort. Keeping up with everything is proving to be a bit of a headache - the internet has turned me into a bit of an infornography fanatic!

“Infornography”???

Wow, another word to add to my Big Blogger Dictionary O’ Made Up Terms, along with “blogsturbation”.

A feed reader is the only way to go, definitely.

BTW, personally, I’m OK with truncated feed annotations. On Ani-nouto, I noticed that running full feeds definitely inflates bandwidth by a lot. It has something to do with readers downloading images… My hypothesis is, a lot of humans look at the first paragraph, decide not to read, but in case of full reads the images are already loaded. Although perhaps it’s the other side of many skipping articles undeservedly when the truncated feed is in force.
