As we begin the month of December, the time for celebrating the joyous Christmas season and the end of the year, it seems only fitting that we also take a moment to celebrate some of those memorable anime moments from throughout the year - moments of laughter, moments of tears, moments of shock and awe, and above all moments of pure, unadulterated epic win.
Thus, in recognition of this most festive time, over the course of the next 12 days we will be highlighting some our of favorite series from the past year at their very best. Feel free to sing along, and to share your own favorite moments from each series in turn.

A cruise on a nice boat for free!
School Days took the visual novel adaptation concept and turned it completely on its head. Pun unintentional… >_>
Regardless of whether you liked or disliked the direction the series went, between the furor surrounding the canceled episode and resulting Nice Boat footage, and then the carnage of the actual final scenes, it’s pretty clear that School Days left its mark. If you saw my comparisons of different anime popularity on Google Trace, or if you pay any attention to either of the major anime blog aggregators, you know that the Nice Boat meme dominated the online anime scene during those last couple weeks.
For better or for worse, the nice boats are here to stay. 
Completely agree with the choice. The question is whether the Nice Boat episode or the Nice Boat scene was more memorable. XD

Only time will tell. Honestly though, it’s been a while since that happened, yet the “Nice X” snowclone still pops up from time to time, so just judging offhand I think that probably made a more notable impact.
I watched School Days to see what led up to Nice Boat, and it was a pretty good series overall. At the same time, it was pretty annoying, as all the high schoolers were pathetic at some point in time (though I still liked some of them), Makoto knew exactly what he was doing the whole time living out a horndog’s fantasy, and they couldn’t stick on the best ED for the entire series. That being “Waltz” by the way.
I have a feeling this feature is going to explain all the random shit that’s been talked about in the blogsphere and I’ve never quite understood.
