The 8th Day of Christmas - Death Note

On the 8th day of Christmas my true love gave to me…
8 Misa-Misas
7 bure bures
6 zawa zawas
5 GIGA DRILLS!
4 metatags
3 rain charms
2 Guchuko’s
And a cruise on a nice boat for free!
Without a doubt, Light-o’s greatest failing was not his megalomania, nor his arrogance, nor his hasty early mistakes, nor the way he callously used his own father’s life, nor even his pitiful end.
No, his failing was being so caught up in his “NO I AM JUSTICE” killing crusade that he passed up a free Misa-Misa buffet. And just look where that kind of attitude landed him.
Don’t worry, I won’t make the same mistake. Misa-Misa is definitely on my Christmas wish list. ![]()

As far as I’m concerned, we could really do with 12 Misa-Misas.
And as far as I’m concerned, you can keep ‘em, guys. No matter how cute the girl is, the tendency to make me want to smash their head in with a hammer becomes a turn off. Misa-Misa gets that kind of reaction from me.
Now admittedly, not having followed the animated version, I say this based entirely off the manga. I have no idea how they portrayed her in the anime, which was rather questionable all around, so I take no responsibility for that.
She was spot on with the anime. The only thing of Death Note anime that wasn’t spot on was the ending, wherein Light got a beautiful death rather than a chump death (and the last arc was rushed.) Thusly, I hate the anime. That said, not even Aya Hirano could really get me to like Misa-Misa. She’s a moronic idol girl with the hots for a puppeteering asshole who is happier using her as a pawn than treating her like someone who cares about him. I don’t particularly like Light, and since Misa is so enamored by him and annoyingly so, I find her kinda grating.
Although I initially loved Misa (even before I found out she was voiced by Aya), her blind love for Light was rather stupid. She couldn’t realize that Light didn’t care about her at all
Eventually I grew to feel neutral about her.
But hey, eight Misa-Misas doesn’t sound too bad =P
Its not just that. Misa is a childish, self centered twit with no concept of tact, subtlety, or anything else that keeps a perso n from requiring round the clock watch to keep her out of jail. By the late sections of part 2, she had become so useless that all we saw her doing was throwing loud tantrums, being a boorish twit and thinking that made her the winner of tense cat-fight like situations.
And frankly, the thought of EIGHT of her gives me some serious night terrors.
While many of the above observations are entirely perspicuous and well thought out, I feel most of the criticisms concerning Misa’s childish, irresponsible, vapid inanities can be easily reconciled by fact she is, incontrovertibly, Misa-fucking-Misa.
So, the mindless devotion to a deranged egomaniacal serial killer aside…ermm, yeah…I still likes me some Misa-Misa.
I like Misa because she’s very cute when she call’s herself Misa-Misa ^^. I considered her a bit of an airhead and a bit crazy, but when you consider what had happened to her parents and how Light killed the killer of Misa’s parents then the thought of kami does come to mind.
And that’s where you and I disagree, AS. Frankly, i find the “Misa-Misa” thing to be utterly retchworthy. But then, I’m pretty much heavily against high levels of moe as a character’s only trait, so that makes sense for my reaction.
Death Note is great.
