It really did feel very Shangri-La style and oddly out of place. Of course, I’ve come to realize that nothing is too over the top for this series.

Haha, 8-dig Steam ID indeed. I’m glad at least one person “saw what I did there”, but that’s certainly the first thing that came to mind when I saw her spinning in circles headshotting everybody.

Kind of funny to note that in the first episode she was using a SIG SG 550, which in CS:S is the “CT autosniper”. Man, what a noob Canaan is!

Yeah, it seems very much like the sort of series that makes for a good marathon session, and perhaps not so good for week to week waiting periods.

It is interesting how the different presentation methods are more conducive to certain types of storytelling and not others, when you have a series of forced intermissions at regular intervals.

It’s like playing pool in the pub: you miss the really easy-looking shots but the awkward ones where you’re perched with one buttock on the edge of the table and the cue at a baize-ripping angle often hit the pockets.

And yes, that IS the most awesome taxi driver ever. His look of “How am I going to get this car off the roof?” had me on the floor.

It’s funny you mention it playing out more like a film than a TV series – Omo said something similar. I think I’d enjoy it if I rewatched it marathon-style actually.

hahhaah this was alot of fun to read, its nice to “take a relaxing break” after how heavy the last post was. Im sure canaan has been VAC banned at least twice. We know shes not legit owning the way she does with that 8 digit steam ID of hers.

No but seriously, i really wish you put the “actual size” subtitle on the ice cream eating shot. Would have made my day. I’ll never understand why i cant even eat half of those ridiculous ice cream empires (im not even including the waffle, whole pinapple, and king size milky way bar sticking out of it) whereas a japanese high school girl half my size can cash the sucker like its nothing. Proportionally it just doesnt make sense.

I really love the show…though I was quite dissapointed when Liang used that retarded avatar thingie jumping around during the anti terrorism presentation in ep.6 …it just didn’t fit the style of the show at all. That’s more of a Shangri-la thing I’d say. It really was a facepalm moment for me lol.

So far I do believe that the first couple of eps are the best. nr. 3 is particularly nice. I kind of think they’re putting a little too much emphasis on the maria-canaan angst later on…meh.

See! THIS is what a post on Canaan 1-3 should be! This is exactly what i thought as I was watching! It’s a fucking badass shooter flick with fun characters, insane animation, and fuckwin hacking. What the fuck else do you need?!
