JLPT Today

And this is my theme music as I roll out to face the enemy. Here’s hoping this year is an epic win!
I’m taking the level 2 again after just barely missing the cutoff last year. This time I’m actually feeling pretty confident about it, as last year my familiarity with a lot of the kanji was pretty suspect and I still came close. After a full year of reading manga almost exclusively in Japanese, I think I’m much better prepared, although there’s still always those horrible trick questions with really ambiguous contexts to confuse you.
Once this is over Epic Win will officially be off hiatus, assuming the test and/or Los Angeles traffic doesn’t kill me, so check back later this week for some new postage. I still have a lot of catching up to do for this season of anime, but I have a couple interesting posts cooked up in the meantime.
Ugh, I’d almost forgotten what a pain in the butt it is to cram for exams. Well, good luck my fellow examinees! And, uh…posthumous good luck to those overseas who already took it, I guess.
/salute

I took level 2 too. I guess I’ll pass, but who knows. For me the listening section is always the most difficult one, and this time it was no exception (in spite of my watching by now most anime raw only). The kanji/vocab section is the easiest for me, because I’ve been reading a lot (around 35 light novels this year plus probably 50-60 manga) and the only problem in the last section were the texts, too long so I had to go through them quickly because otherwise I wouldn’t have had time to do the grammar exercises.
So well, I guess good luck to all of us who took it! Even if I fail, I’ll take level 1 next year
Oh sweet,
I hope to finally see some other input on Darker than Black Season 2 (besides the pure summaries that seem to proliferate the web). I’ve been rather lonely this season
.
Whoa same, level 2 here as well. Particularly liked the monkey story lol. I took mine in Tokyo Institute of Technology. Have some pictures of the exam day up in figure.fm. http://www.figure.fm/post/en/5186/JLPT+The+Tokyo+Experience.html
Funny, I really thought you’d pass Level 1, considering how much I read about you in this blog, if that makes any sense.
Here’s to our great results out in Feb *kanpai*
Oh yea, in case you didn’t know you would’ve heard an Evangelion audio excerpt in the Choukai if you took Level 1. My classmates got so excited when they talked about it in class today.
Posted about it too: http://www.ahbonk.net/?p=1149
*Wooooo*
Epic Win goes beyond the impossible and kicks reason to the curb. Does what no blog has done before…returning from hiatus once more with an ever burning passion.
My exams start mid-january…*sigh*
(So much for failing to read blogs during JLPT mode, read this late @_@)
Hope you pwned that JLPT2 sh*t 0rion!

Hope you did well on the JLPT2 Orion. My Japanese skills would only get me to pass the lowest JLPT lol. Hoping to pas the JLPT1 one day though
. Btw, I moved to Chibified.com from AnimeSugoi.

The results are out, yo! How did you do, Orion?
I passed my Level 2

Orion, you still alive?
I keep checking for updates to no avail :’(.
Gah I need to read the word of Guff. And that’s even more rare than the penstrokes of Orion.

I suppose even the doctor can’t cure himself.
@Mikoto & Grimmer
Hey guys, thanks for dropping by. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment even though I haven’t updated in ages. Although it’s been a long dry spell so far this year, I am working on writing some new posts at the moment, and the first one will be up on the site within a week.
Really looking forward to it, dude. Been missing this blog. xD
[...] although I previously posted about taking the JLPT level 2 exam this last December, I never got around to posting about the follow up results. [...]
miss you too
“Ugh, I’d almost forgotten what a pain in the butt it is to cram for exams. ”
Not to get off-topic or anything, but that’s why freaken exams don’t really reflect the actual skill of the people taking it; because people CRAM before taking them. Damn, I REALLY hate exams…
If I were Japanese and in charge of a company or something, my way of putting to the test the Japanese skills of a potential employee would be to just have a conversation with him/her in Japanese about the niche of my company, have him read some articles in the newspapers and have a talk about them. You can’t CRAM for that, you can’t get prepared beforehand to that… in my opinion that’s a test!
But oh well, I hope you still did well in the JLPT and that you keep improving in your Japanese skills. I wish you an Epic Win in life!
