The 12 Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas my true love (anime) gave to me…

As we begin the month of December, the time for celebrating the joyous Christmas season and the end of the year, it seems only fitting that we also take a moment to celebrate some of those memorable anime moments from throughout the year - moments of laughter, moments of tears, moments of shock and awe, and above all moments of pure, unadulterated epic win.

Thus, in recognition of this most festive time, over the course of the next 12 days we will be highlighting some our of favorite series from the past year at their very best. Feel free to sing along, and to share your own favorite moments from each series in turn. :)

Anime Popularity, Google Trends, and Nice Boats

Google has a search comparison tool called Google Trends, which allows you to look up and compare the popularity of certain high volume search queries over time.

After reading this article, I was inspired to see if I could find anything cool regarding anime related search terms. Rather than performing more generalized comparisons, however, I decided to look up specific shows to see if I could learn anything interesting about them. Read on for the results.

School Days, Bad End is Bad

I didn’t enjoy it at all.

You know, it’s funny…after all the build up, all the delays, all the bloggers flaming away at Makoto with the heat of a thousand internets, when I finally got to see the long awaited moment - it didn’t make me happy at all.

Watching the cast slowly spiral out of control throughout the series, and then finally crash and burn at the end, was like watching an impending train wreck. You knew it was going to be horrible, but you couldn’t pull your eyes away from it. Read the rest of this entry »



Why you take my stabby?

Finally when I had something to look forward to…eagerly camping Tokyo Tosho, hitting F5 over and over again, gleefully envisioning the long awaited scene in which Makoto finally gets his just desserts…

Some little girl in Japan had to go all Higurashi on her dad, resulting in the final episode of School Days getting pulled, and now I have nothing to watch. Read the rest of this entry »
